Project Give Back - July
 |
National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii |
The mission of the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, a major voluntary health organization, is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, to improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and to increase the availability of all organs and tissue for transplantation in Hawaii.
There is one in seven Hawaii residents living with CKD, a growing epidemic, which is 30% higher than the national average. Chronic Kidney Disease threatens the health and lives of more than 40 million Americans nationwide, and 156,000 residents in Hawaii. The good news is that NKFH is proactively educating the community on greater health awareness and early CKD detection.
